Make it Monday

Lifeinmyhousefulofboys

Grace wanted a "Liesl" dress for her Father/Daughter Tea ....(the tea was only one afternoon of the 3 day event!)...so, I gave it a go.  I am not a seamstress....I am afraid of slippery kinds of fabric....I am afraid of sheer kinds of fabric....I do not like to do gathers.....All of these phobias had to be addressed in this garment.

The dress came out just fine. Not professional, but it definately had the desired affect. It is a very fun twirly dress. And I will also so that the directions on the pattern were great! The errors are ALL operator errors NOT a problem with the directions!

And here she is at the beautiful Callaway Gardens (where the Father/Daughter weekend took place), wearing the dress AND a lovely capelet she made herself!

The fact that it is "twirly" made me *smile*...what a little girl's dream.

  7. It is lovely! But, she is just so precious. I hope they had a good time at Callaway. I am hoping that we can make it to the Father/Daughter retreat next year too. There was just to much going on this year to squeeze it in with the move and all.

Will you be posting more pics of the retreat?

  10. Beautiful Keri! I've been looking for dress patterns for my twelve-and-a-half year old daughter to make at her sewing class. This one is great. Would you mind very much telling us where you got the pattern?! Or did you make it up yourself?

  13. The dress turned out beautiful; and definitely looks like a Liesl dress. I feel the same way about certain materials and patterns. You did such a great job, and she looks so pretty in it.
