Odds and Ends....Mostly Odds....

Well, don't know that I'll get back to blogging very consistently, but I just might. Today I'm just posting some pictures of a few random activities......

In the Make it Monday category (yes, I know it is not Monday - but Make it Monday w/ Madeline sounds better than the alternative), I'm featuring Madeline...who finished this scrumptious looking pair of slippers for a baby due very soon (close your eyes, Rebecca!)

She's so poetic, that as I'm writing this post, she is playing the "strawberry, strawberry' suzuki rhythm of Twinkle Twinkle.....a natural artist...

In other news, our "Little Lamb", Rachel has been supervising the lambing of her small flock - two ewes. Both ewes had twins this year, but one was stillborn. A week after the last birth, her 4H leader called her and asked if she wanted a 'project'. He had a little ewe lamb whose mama was gonna have to be put down, so she adopted a 3day old ewe lamb (who was larger than her 10 day old lamb!) and has been bottle feeding this little sweetie. She will be kept as a breeding ewe.

Well, the first night, she came inside and told us that "Surely" would like her to spend the night....so she lasted out there until after the 2am feeding....then opted for the sofa for the remainder of the night.

Incidentally, her ewes are named, Surely, Goodness, and Mercy.....but only Surely follows her!

We've done a bit of hiking this fall/winter....we live in a beautiful area! (There's your plug to come and visit if you don't enjoy this neck of the woods as home!)
I love having pictures of all the children...these may be harder and harder to come by in the next years.

  2. Wonderful to see how the Lord has been blessing you. :) And you are right, capturing the entire family is one photo does become more and more difficult as one's children grow older...two summers ago we had the blessing of having all my siblings here for a picnic (the first time we'd all been in the same place at the same time in over a decade!). My parents were thrilled. :) The booties are adorable! ~Lisa

  5. Its so nice to see you back with a couple of posts. I love your family pictures and yes, they are harder to come by the older they get, and the more they begin to have families and move to other places.... sigh. I love the names of your daughter's lambs, that just made me laugh; very cute. Oh, I have been working on my blog off and on the last couple of weeks, and found a spot that was for spam, and it had listed two of your comments from last October as Spam (and hadn't published them), so I took it and marked it as "not spam"; but I can't figure out why it would have done that. But I tell you that now, because perhaps I didn't reply to you at that time; I don't know for sure, and perhaps something was a little haywire as you were posting it, so I thought I would let you know (I have had a few funny things I have had to straighten out on my blog lately, blogger can get quirky sometimes)... well, nice to see you back, you all look wonderful.
    Blessings,
    Pam

  6. Dear Keri,
Greetings from Maine! It was so nice to have you stop by my blog for a visit today! Thanks so much for sharing a bit of your "life"...I just love the family picture...too precious! Your daughters with the slippers, lambs, and violin...cherished moments. They grow much too quickly.

    Sweet blessings,
    Laura

  7. Love these glimpses. That family shot is great. I know how hard it is to get a photo of all of us together and there are only 6 of us!

And I too love the names of those lambs. It's still a little early for lambing over here yet.
