Among them was a ruffling foot. Ah....a ruffling foot....Up until now, I did NOT like making ruffley things...my gathering threads broke and I would sew it on w/ gapping flat places and then tightly gathered areas...all uneven...irritating...frustrating...
Megan's little three tiered skirt took less than an hour to make - that's ironing, cutting, ruffling and sewing! (and w/ some minor distractions!)
But now, I have spent a couple of days sewing....(not straight sewing, mind you...I do have many children at home that are being schooled, and today Sarah teaches lessons, so I have friends coming and going all day w/ their children) - sewing; happily, cheerfully, joyfully making ruffles!
Thank you! Grandma Nancy!
Hooray for Twirl Skirts!
I am in awe! Less than an HOUR! These skirts are absolutely gorgeous.... as are the wearers, I must say! What lovely photos. But I'm still sitting jaw-dropped at the skirts. Is it wrong to envy the skill you have??
ReplyDeleteI still like a 'twirly' skirt myself, lol!
ReplyDeleteYour skirts look really wonderful, Keri.
Well done !!
I love the colours and the ruffles :-)
What lovely photos of your pretty girls, too.
I can see they are enjoying your new creations!

Very cute skirts and the girls are precious twirling and modeling their ruffles!
ReplyDeleteKeri, These are adorable! I have wanted to ruffle attachment (even though I rarely sew). These skirts are wonderful and twirly. I know my little girls would love to twirl just like your little girls.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing more of your creations.
You have precious children.
Those are absolutely adorable! You did such a great job!!! I have always wanted to learn to sow...But for now, Charae does all the sowing :)
ReplyDeleteThose skirts are gorgeous! I never even heard of a ruffling foot before! How does it work?!
ReplyDeleteThose skirts are so delightful! I wish I was young enough to wear one :0)
ReplyDeleteAnd your little girls are so sweet, twirling away in the grass.
The skirts are so cute, and so are your girlies! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I had not heard of a ruffling foot. I "need" to look into that! Thank you for sharing this. And I LOVE love love your dd's skirts. I only wear skirts and I would love to make a skirt like the three tiered one. [o=

Keri,
ReplyDeleteYour daughters look very cute in their three tiered ruffled skirts. So glad that you found an easier and less frustrating way to make them. :)

P.S. I wanted to listen to the Beth Moore video, but it didn't show-up on my computer. Ugh! Maybe it's my browser?
Sweet skirts Keri.
