Beauty and the Beast

Here are our grapes.......

........ Beautiful!!! (but not quite ready to harvest!)

Believe it or not.........
Here is the Beast....beautiful as well, but NOT when in the same vicinity as our grapes!

Every morning this critter and a friend are hanging out in our yard......they have not yet eaten our grapes....but certainly seem to be eyeing them. We've yet to see if hanging strong smelling soap on the trellis will deter them to the end...so far...they seem  to have been bothered enough to stay away (in other years they haven't  minded eating them at this stage of ripeness!)....We'll see who gets the beauties!

  1. I really hope you all get the beauties! I have such fond memories eating concord grapes growing up. They grew on the fence between our fence and our neighbors. Our neighbors didn't want them and allowed us kids to have as much as we wanted. [o= What great memories.

  2. Those grapes look delicious!!! We are having the same trouble with our orchard :) But we got a pellet gun to fix the problem, and so far it hasn't been successful at scaring them off :)

  3. I adore watching those little critters but you are right those grapes need to be left alone! Do you have big plans for the grapes when they are ready to be picked?

  5. Your grapes are beautiful, love the pictures!! We used to have deer in our yard nibble at the veggies, and the soap worked pretty well to keep them away. Deer are pretty to watch- as long as they stay away from crops :) Thanks for stopping by my blog- I look forward to checking out more of yours. ~April

  6. Also Keri, if you get a chance I would like to see your children's history notebooks. I would like to see how beautiful feet sets it up. We do History notebooks as well but the aren't nearly as details right now.

  8. Oh, wow! What beauties right enough... I cannot imagine having grapes right in my own garden. That's wonderful. And yes, beautiful as the other fella is, I'd feel the same as you in this situation...
